We are Stillwater Publishing and our books include the NSTA-recommended educator guide No Student Left Indoors: Creating a Field Guide to Your Schoolyard  as well as the award-winning series for readers age 8 and up, Take A Walk® books.

This section of our webiste is dedicated to helping K-12 teachers, homeschoolers, and other educators to conduct a Field Guide Project^TM. I like to say that nature is not a destination. It is everywhere we are and everywhere we go. By exploring the nature in your schoolyard you will help develop a sense of place and a sense of pride in your students. Schoolyard study isplace- and project-based learning at its best.
